What is a sub genre?
A sub genre is a subdivision of a genre of literature, music, film, etc.

Here are three examples of sub genres:

• Teen comedy.
• Teen romance.
• Teen horror.

These sub genres contain elements of the main genre and the sub genre too. For the two examples listed it would be a teen drama still but would involve the sub genre of comedy into it to blend with it and romance for the other example.

Twilight is an example of a teen drama with a sub genre. Twilight involves the main genre being teen and the sub genre of supernatural. The sub genre would be supernatural as it involves the characters turning into vampires.

High School Musical is another example of teen drama with a sub genre. High School Musical involves the main genre being teen and also involves the sub genre of musical. The sub genre would be musical as it involves the actors and actresses singing throughout.
