Teen dramas are usually divided into two catagories.

-Youth drama:

•  focus on the social dilemmas faced by the main, often male, character.
• Popular with teen audiences, seen to be a more authentic representation of youth than HSD
  

-High School Drama :

• The socialsation of teen and young adults in institutions such as a school.
