Research into a teen film I've watched

Name of film: The Fault In Our Stars
Sub genre: Drama

The list of credits and the order they appear in:

  • Ident

  • Name of film
The producer for The Fault In Our Stars is Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen. This also happens to be a mainstream production for the film.
Some plots introduced in the film opening was a support group.
The main characters in the film are Hazel and Augustus. How they are introduced to the audience would be as youthful.
How the teens interact with adults would be the way we would expect them to react to adults and this is as not paying any attention to them. Hazel is seen not engaging with her parents when they are speaking to her as she decides to pay more attention to her phone where she's having a conversation with Augustus.
The camera shots that we tend to see are two shots and over the shoulder. This shows that they are young and spend a lot of time with each other.
The editing that we see over the course of the film would cross cutting. This is between Hazel and Augustus while they spend time on the phone. This is used to show them being young and in love.
Some sounds that the audience come across would be when Hazel says "Is it really 1 am?" to Augustus, this symbolises elements of youth and also them being in love.
The mise-en-scene during the film could be used to show the storyline of the film, the lighting specifically. Dark lighting was being shown and this was when Hazel couldn't breathe. This helps to reflect the storyline because the story is about a girl who was diagnosed with cancer and then she meets a guy who falls in love with her but she tries to tell him not to because she can die any moment. This also helps at the current moment because at the current moment, she stops breathing.
I think The Fault In Our Stars is a good film, this is because it's a true story so you get to understand the story even more and it's a teen film that other teens can watch and understand how life is for other teens.
